Bernie has always loved dogs. His first dog was a German Shepherd. He met Barb's Border Collie, Tara and fell in love with the breed. In 1989 he got his first Border Collie puppy, Chris. They began competing in 1991. He bred her to a dog named Rip and from that cross we got Dan and Taff. Chris was the beginning of our breeding program. Since that time, he has raised and trained his own dogs for sheep dog trials.
Barb and her Border Collie, Jill
Barb has always loved dogs, as well. Her family dog growing up was a Shetland Sheepdog. During college she aquired a Lab//beagle/ ?; Gin was her buddy for many years. And then she was introduced to Border Collies. Her first Border Collie was born in 1974. Tara helped Barb work cattle on a farm that raised and trained cutting horses. They were inseparable till Tara passed in 1988. Bernie and Barb had a chance to watch a herding trial and they were hooked. Barb got Kelly as a puppy in 1989. Kelly was a natural worker and gave Barb a good start in competition.
